SCHOOL-BASED POSITIONS (VISTA position)
These full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA service positions are hosted by the Public & School Partnership (PSP) and serve youth and families in school-based settings across Cache County, UT. VISTA Members are placed in local schools to help improve and implement programs that support student academic success and attendance, college and career readiness, parent engagement, student experience, and intervention strategies. Specific activities vary by site. *REQUIRED IN APPLICATION, indicate up to 2 of the following where you would like to be considered for an interview: Cache High, Green Canyon High School, Mountain Crest High School, North Cache Middle School, Ridgeline High School, South Cache Middle School. COMMON GROUND OUTDOOR ADVENTURES (VISTA position)
This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA position is hosted by the Public & School Partnership and is based at Common Ground Outdoor Adventures in Logan, UT. Common Ground aims to ensure that individuals with disabilities are aware of opportunities and have access to outdoor recreation. VISTA members will help build organizational capacity and ensure suitability by coordinating volunteers, acquiring funding and materials via donations and grants, and carrying out outreach strategies to increase participation in active recreation and outdoor adventure experiences for youths and adults with disabilities. UTAH ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM (VISTA position)
This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA position is hosted by the Public & School Partnership and is based at the Utah Assistive Technology Program in the USU Center for Persons with Disabilities. The Utah Assistive Technology Program (UATP) is a federally funded program serving individuals with disabilities of all ages throughout the state of Utah. Their goal is to provide assistive technology devices and services as well as train university students, parents, children with disabilities and professional service providers about assistive technology. They coordinate their services with community organizations and others who provide independence-related supports to individuals with disabilities. The primary goal of this position is to increase outreach to Latino and Native American populations so they can learn about and access needed services. NORTHERN UTAH NATIVE CONNECTION (VISTA position)
This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA position is hosted by the Public & School Partnership and is based at the Northern Utah Native Connection program that serves students in Cache County, Logan City, and Box Elder school districts. VISTA members with the Northern Utah Native Connection program work during school hours of operation to help school administration, teachers, and other staff to develop programs to implement and evaluate attendance, positive behavior support, and targeted academic interventions that benefit Native students. In addition, VISTA members will work alongside students, families, school volunteers, administration, faculty, and staff to improve efforts to support the academic success and school experience of Native students. *Daily access to a reliable vehicle is required to be successful in this position.* |
CACHE REFUGEE & IMMIGRANT CONNECTION (VISTA position)
This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA position is hosted by the Public & School Partnership and is based at the Cache Refugee & Immigrant Connection (CRIC) in Logan, UT. CRIC is looking for an organized, forward-thinking individual who is excited about building the capacity of an impactful organization Cache Valley. The VISTA Member serving with the center will ensure sustainability and build capacity of the organization by conducting research, developing grant timelines, and preparing and carrying out best practices for grant-writing. The VISTA will also develop, improve upon, and coordinate community needs assessments and coordinate social media outreach. The mission of the CRIC is to promote integration, economic self-sufficiency, and positive connections among refugees, immigrants, and the wider community through two-way education, improved access to existing resources, and development of new services. AMERICORPS VISTA LEADER (VISTA Leader position)
This full-time, one-year VISTA position is based at the main office of the Public and School Partnership at Utah State University. The mission of the Public and School Partnership (PSP) is to connect community members to the education, resources, and opportunities they need to elevate themselves and their neighbors out of poverty. The VISTA Leader position is a unique position because it contributes to this goal by serving as a guide, liaison, advocate, and resource for PSP’s VISTA members, ensuring that they have a successful year of VISTA service, as measured by VISTA satisfaction, client and site satisfaction, and various performance measures and outcomes. *REQUIRED TO SERVE IN THIS POSITION: To serve as an AmeriCorps VISTA Leader, all applicants must have completed the equivalent of at least 1 full-time service term with: AmeriCorps VISTA (1 full service term), AmeriCorps (1700-hour service term), OR Peace Corps (1 full service term)* AmeriCorps VISTA is a National Service program. Successful completion of a one-year service term qualifies all VISTA members and VISTA Leaders for one of two end of service options. VISTA Leaders can choose between an education award of $6345 or a cash stipend of $3000 (direct deposit). The pay, a living stipend, is $1302 per month for VISTA Leaders serving with PSP. LEGACY JR. Benefits of A Full-Year VISTA Service:
- Living allowance: $1102 per month for VISTA Members ($1302 per month for VISTA Leaders)
- End of service award: $6,345 education award OR $1,800 cash ($3000 cash for VISTA Leaders)
- Relocation allowance, if relocating at least 50 miles from home of record to serve with PSP site: $750
- Mileage reimbursement for all service-related travel
- Student loan forbearance (deferment may be available through loan holder) and interest repayment (if eligible)

Minimum requirements of Full-Term VISTA Service:
- US Citizen over the age of 18
- Work week: 40 hours a week
- Commitment: One-year service term (one calendar year)
- Mandatory participation in VISTA member orientation (VMO) and PSP on-site orientation & training (OSOT).
