The Public School Partnership (PSP) places AmeriCorpsVISTA (Volunteer in Service to America) members within partner schools and community organizations to help develop and implement education focused anti-poverty programs that provide sustainable solutions for underserved students and families. In 2014 PSP VISTA programs served 13,439 at-risk individuals, generated $205,692 in in-kind resources and donations, and recruited 4,000 volunteers who served 11,667 hours with education-based programs. PSP will be instrumental in hosting a national VISTA 50th Anniversary celebration in Salt Lake City on August 27, 2015.
CCESL houses the Utah Conservation Corps as well as USU students serving in Utah Campus Compact AmeriCorps positions. In 2014, 215 AmeriCorps members with CCESL completed over 170,000 hours of service at projects that mentored 1,411 Cache Valley students daily, maintained 177.6 miles of trail, repaired 8.54 miles of fence, and restored 14,996 acres of habitat. Utah Conservation Corps AmeriCorps members will be hosting a brown bag lunch event at a habitat restoration project near the Day Riverside Library in Salt Lake City at noon on March 11th.
