COMMON GROUND OUTDOOR ADVENTURES (VISTA position)
This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA position is hosted by the Public & School Partnership and is based at Common Ground Outdoor Adventures in Logan, UT. Common Ground aims to alleviate poverty for individuals with disabilities by ensuring they are aware of opportunities and have access to outdoor recreation/education. Outdoor recreation and physical fitness provide people with disabilities with increased self-esteem, physical fitness, increased health and wellness that often lead to access to education as well as vocational and career paths, thereby elevating themselves out of poverty. *Applicant instructions: on your resume/cover letter/motivational statement, please indicate if you would like to be considered for the advancement position, education position, or both positions/no preference. - Volunteer Mobilization: This VISTA position will build organizational capacity by developing and improving upon the volunteer program, ensure volunteer retention and engagement through partnership and training development, ensure program sustainability by building financial capacity. - Beaver Mountain Program Support & Development: This VISTA position will directly support Common Ground's Beaver Mountain facility programs including snow sports, Beaver Base Camps, etc. To support the Beaver Mountain facility programs, the VISTA will build organizational capacity by developing and improving upon year-round volunteer programs, ensure program sustainability by building financial capacity, and increase participation in active recreation and outdoor adventure experiences for youths and adults with disabilities through effective outreach. ZOOTAH - education position (VISTA position)
This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA position is hosted by the Public & School Partnership and is based at Zootah in Logan, UT. The VISTA member will increase education programs and outreach to the community. In doing this, more people in the local community will benefit from Zootah's programs and, in raising awareness of and support for programs, Zootah will be able to provide affordable and accessible services for all. ATHLETICS UNITED (VISTA position)
This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA service position is hosted by the Public & School Partnership (PSP) and is based with Athletics United in Logan, UT. Athletics United offers affordable access to athletics and learning services to refugee and immigrant youth and their families. The goal of this VISTA position is to assist Athletics United in building capacity and implementing sustainable systems and programming, assisting program staff in raising awareness for Athletics United in the community and beyond, and by identifying and securing funding through local donations, partnerships, and grants. The VISTA member will also assist Athletics United staff in developing sustainable policy and training systems to foster a safe, healthy, supportive environment for all program participants. JUMP THE MOON FOUNDATION (VISTA position)
This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA service position is hosted by the Public & School Partnership (PSP) and is based at Jump the Moon in Logan, UT. Jump the Moon is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing those with disabilities the opportunity to express themselves through art in a safe, nonjudgmental environment. The VISTA will work to increase capacity and ensure the sustainability of the program by identifying potential donors, resources for recruiting volunteers, partner organizations to help with awareness and outreach; developing materials to raise awareness of low-income and special needs classes; developing a sustainable system to track partner organizations; and documenting Jump the Moon events for future reference. Jump the Moon is looking for someone who has a genuine interest in the arts, is proactive and a go-getter, and someone with the ability to identify what could be done next, the steps to move forward, and present those options to a supervisor. THE WARMING CENTER (VISTA position)
This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA service position is hosted by the Public and School Partnership (PSP) and is based at The Warming Center in Logan, UT. The Warming Center is committed to alleviate poverty in our community by providing safety, warmth, and care for unhoused individuals and families. The VISTA member will contribute to this goal by supporting the W.A.B Warming Center with developing, implementing, and improving upon program structure, strategies, and resources. LITTLE LAMBS - resource coordination position (VISTA position)
This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA service position is hosted by the Public & School Partnership (PSP) and is based at Little Lambs Foundation for Kids in Logan, UT. Little Lambs is committed to alleviating poverty for families in Cache County by connecting them to needed resources and support programs. The organization receives an incredible support from the community, grants, and other agencies in the form of tangible/in-kind resources. The goal of this VISTA position is to streamline, build capacity, and ensure sustainability of Little Lambs’ resource coordination efforts. The VISTA will work with the Program and Executive Directors in the development and improvement of systems, processes, and protocols related to resource coordination so that Little Lambs can better support families and kids. The VISTA will in turn gain a deep understanding of the inner workings of a high- functioning nonprofit. |
VISTA LEADER (VISTA position)
This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA service position is based at the main office of the Public & School Partnership at Utah State University. The mission of the Public & School Partnership (PSP) is to connect community members to the education, resources, and opportunities they need to elevate themselves and their neighbors out of poverty. The VISTA Leader position is a unique position because it contributes to this goal by serving as a guide, liaison, advocate, and resource for PSP’s VISTA members, ensuring that they have a successful year of VISTA service, as measured by VISTA satisfaction, client and site satisfaction, and various performance measures and outcomes. REQUIRED: To serve as an AmeriCorps VISTA Leader, all applicants must have completed the equivalent of at least 1 full-time service term with: AmeriCorps VISTA (1 full service term), AmeriCorps (1700-hour service term), OR Peace Corps (1 full service term) THE FAMILY PLACE UTAH - 2 position options (VISTA position)
This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA position is hosted by the Public & School Partnership and is based at The Family Place Utah in Cache County, UT. The VISTA members will be placed in one of the below areas. *Applicant instructions: on your resume/cover letter/motivational statement, please indicate if you would like to be considered for the advancement position, education position, or both positions/no preference. - Advancement: The overall goals of this VISTA placement are to increase funding for The Family Place and reduce poverty by helping families access services offered at The Family Place. To reach these goals, the VISTA member will work in the organization's Advancement Department in implementing a volunteer system and providing support for The Family Place's many events and family-friendly activities. The VISTA member will collaborate with The Family Place's volunteer coordinator and other Advancement team personnel to ensure events are strategically planned, meet fundraising goals, and extensively assessed and documented in order to ensure funding security and awareness of services for years to come. *Based at The Family Place's Smithfield location - Education: The overall goal is to contribute to organizational development and capacity building by collaborating with The Family Place’s staff to provide programs and enhance program engagement and access for community members to ultimately alleviate poverty for them. Programs will be developed and improved upon. This will be accomplished by developing and implementing various educational and interpersonal strategies. *Based at The Family Place's Hyrum location CACHE REFUGEE & IMMIGRANT CONNECTION (VISTA position)
This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA position is hosted by the Public & School Partnership and is based at the Cache Refugee & Immigrant Connection (CRIC) in Logan, UT. CRIC is looking for an organized, forward-thinking individual who is excited about building the capacity of an impactful organization Cache Valley. The VISTA Member serving with the center will ensure sustainability and build capacity of the organization by conducting research, developing grant timelines, and preparing and carrying out best practices for grant-writing. The VISTA will also develop, improve upon, and coordinate community needs assessments and coordinate social media outreach. The mission of the CRIC is to promote integration, economic self-sufficiency, and positive connections among refugees, immigrants, and the wider community through two-way education, improved access to existing resources, and development of new services. AGGIES ELEVATED (PRICE)
(VISTA position) Aggies Elevated is an inclusive post-secondary education program for college-age students with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The goal of the program after graduation is competitive, integrated employment. Our students pay the same tuition and fees that non-disabled students pay, plus a program-specific fee to offset the cost of various supports AE provides. The overall goal of the VISTA members is to relieve poverty and increase the capacity of AE through outreach, awareness, and funding, with the ultimate goal of making the program more accessible and affordable to students with disabilities. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Ensure the sustainability of the program by increasing community awareness in underserved communities, Attract program applicants from wider cultural identities and socioeconomic backgrounds, Create a major fundraising event that will be held on an annual basis, Develop and ensure the sustainability of efforts to support program participants in social and independent living activities. *Based at AE's Price, UT location CACHE COUNTY 4-H (VISTA position)
This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA service position is hosted by the Public & School Partnership (PSP) and is based at Cache County 4-H, which operates as part of Utah State University Extension in Logan, UT. Primary responsibilities will be to increase educational opportunities for 4-H Youth Members in their passions project areas, build capacity of the 4-H program through training initiatives for 4-H volunteers and teachers, and ensure sustainability and build the capacity of 4-H by increasing community support, partnerships, and funding sources. USU STUDENT NUTRITION ACCESS CENTER/SNAC (VISTA position)
This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA service position is hosted by the Public & School Partnership (PSP) and is based at the Utah State University Student Nutrition Access Center (SNAC) in Logan, UT. The goal of this position is to build capacity and ensure the sustainability of the USU Student Nutrition Access Center (SNAC) by increasing and deepening partnerships, promoting programs, assisting with fundraising, and supporting volunteer-coordination efforts. The SNAC pantry provides food resources to college students at USU. These efforts will in turn help alleviate poverty for college-student populations, who are often not part of poverty-alleviating conversations and initiatives. |
