One-Year AmeriCorps VISTA Site Placement

VISTA members serve full-time hours for a minimum of one year and engage in capacity-building and sustainability efforts, including, but not limited to: ensuring the sustainability of organizations and programs; recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers; securing funding and partnerships; developing new and improving upon existing programs; increasing outreach and awareness; developing and implement new programs; planning and implementing annual events.

All VISTA placement sites must have the capacity to identify an on-site supervisor, provide effective supervision, and engage the VISTA in tasks 40 hours per week. Sites may also be asked to contribute a cost-share contribution to help PSP provide mileage reimbursement, training and service opportunities, supplies, software access, etc. to the VISTA member.*

Interested in hosting a full-term VISTA member? Please email PSP Director, Shonna Hemmis, at shonna.ferree@usu.edu.

*A need-based supplemental application is available for potential sites with financial concerns related to the required cost-share. If you would like to complete this application, please request one by emailing shonna.ferree@usu.edu.
